Known Issues
If you discover an issue not covered in this document, it would be greatly appreciated if you could send the specifics to the development team. Contact information can be viewed here.
Below are descriptions of problems with the version of
the application noted. The problems were unable to be fixed before the
release of the application or discovered after the release. Every
effort will be made to fix these bugs in future releases of the
application. When the bugs are fixed, their entry on this page
will be removed.
Version 2.0.4
Issue: The Query Type (selector) does not affect the results of a Query by Radius or Search by Feature functions. MapInfo has declared this a bug in MapXtreme version 4.8.1. Results from either of these functions appear to be similar to use of the "MBR" Search Type (gets everything in the general area).
Workaround: None at this time. Waiting for MapInfo to fix bug.
Fix: Bug has been fixed in version 2.1
Version 1.6.x
Issue: Subordinate windows (i.e. Map Navigation, Layer Settings, etc.) do not close automatically when functions successfully complete in Netscape Browser version 7.2. At this time the browser's Popup Manager is activated but can not be configured to ignore popups from this site. Netscape version 7.1 can at least be configured to ingore popups and all seems to work fine.
Workaround: Manually close subordinate windows by pressing the Refresh Map button at the top of page. Use Netscape version 7.1and set the Popup Manager to ignore popups from this site.
Fix:
Version 1.3.7.x
Issue: Incorrect location reported
when map image clicked. Tools affected are all "Zoom" functions,
"Recenter", "Point", "Rectangle" and "Radius" query active layer
tools. This bug has only been observed in MS Internet Explorer
for XP service pack 2 (6.0.2900).
Workaround: None. You
might consider downgrading your version of Internet Explore to 6.0.2800
which is known to work.
Fix: None. Later versions of
Internet Explorer will be evaluated as they become available. If
they work, it will be reported here.
Version 1.1.6.x
Issue: Right-click to save the map image as file causes the
application to execute the current tool in later versions of MS
Internet Explorer (6.x) and Netscape (7.x). Tools affected are "Zoom
In", "Zoom Out" and "Search Rectangle".
Workaround: The user can select the tool "Ruler" and then right
click on the map image and select save from the menu.
Fix: Build 1.1.8.1 - fixes this issue with the exception of
Internet Explorer if a user moves mouse to the upper left while
right-clicking to save map image. Otherwise, all other situations and
browsers work.
Issue: Base Map options
(e.g. USGS
topo maps) do not display when selected. This problem occurs when
the Map Units are something other than "Feet". Note: there maybe other
reasons the Base Map option does not display such as the current scale
of the map is outside of the zoom thresholds of the Base Map option.
Workaround: The user should
make sure the Map Units are set to "Feet" when using a Base Map option.
Version 1.1.2.x
Issue: Navigation
functions (Go Lat/Long, Go QMQ, Go ITM, Go Place) that result in
positive values of Longitude (values east of the 180th Meridian) are
problematic. The map extents are set to a location not expected.
Workaround: The user can Recenter the map to those locations
east of the 180th Meridian. The search tools seemed to be unaffected by
this issue, however coordinate information displays incorrectly.
